PHOTOS: Vernon Boat Show makes waves

Nearly 40 boats were on display at the Vernon Yacht Club over the weekend

From luxury surf boats, to fishing boats and pontoons, were on display May 4 and 5 as the Vernon Yacht Club hosted its 31st annual boat and leisure show.

Dozens of vessels were set up on the docks and on the club grounds.

Food, by donation, was provided, while a slew of boat-adjacent brands were on display, from marine flooring, search and rescue, fishing, invasive mussel protection and lake conservation.

Paddleboards and kayak demonstrations were held by Innerspace Watersports, as well as remote controlled boat displays for the kids.

The show collected non-perishable food donations for the Salvation Army food bank.

The yacht club, which celebrated its 70th anniversary in 2023, had been running their show yearly until COVID, resulting in a three-year postponement.

Its return last year saw nearly 1,000 visitors, according to show coordinator Dave Groleau.
