To kick off Prospera Credit Union’s Canada 150 celebrations, it’s contributing 5,000 volunteer hours to communities.

Prospera has also challenged other credit unions across the country to match its contribution.

“Celebrating 150 years as a country is meaningful for all Canadians. At Prospera, we’re excited to rock this volunteer challenge and show some true Canadian spirit,” said Shawn Good, Prospera president.

“The 5,000 hours will make a significant contribution to the communities we serve and we invite Canadians of all ages to join the challenge to help their own communities. Canada 150 will provide a unique way to truly celebrate and showcase the power of working together”.

In 2016, Prospera staff contributed more than 4,220 volunteer hours, which impacted more than 200 non-profit organizations in B.C. communities.

Prospera is one of the founding partners of Volinspire, an online platform that connects volunteers with organizations that are important to them and allows them to find volunteer opportunities.

Volunteers are invited to register for the challenge, share their stories, track volunteer hours and discover what others across the country are doing to show their Canadian pride.
