Realtors elect 2017/18 board

A new board of directors for 2017/18 was sworn in at the 58th annual general meeting of the Okanagan Mainline Real Estate Board

A new board of directors has been elected by the Okanagan Mainline Real Estate Board.

Tanis Read, a Kelowna realtor, will head a board of 12 directors comprising realtors from Peachland to Revelstoke.

Read succeeds president Anthony Bastiaanssen, who will continue as past-president.

Read is joined by vice-president Marv Beer, a realtor in Salmon Arm.

In addition to Read, Beer and Bastiaanssen, the full 2017/2018 OMREB board includes realtors Erin Leek of Salmon Arm, Kim Heizmann, Bill Hubbard and Joe Pearson of Vernon, and Sheryl Lobsinger, Kent Jorgenson, Michael Loewen, Brent Pay and Cliff Shillington of Kelowna.

Latest statistics

Real estate activity remains strong in the North Okanagan.

The Okanagan Mainline Real Estate Board reports that there were 225 units solid from Predator Ridge to Enderby In March. That is up from 135 in February and 186 during March 2016.

The total sales volume in March was $93.9 million.

In terms of residential sales, there were 107 units in March, compared to 59 in February and 100 in March 2016.
