There’s more support for the Okanagan Rail Trail.

At the Western Financial Group, Monica Lowe, from Coldstream, and Sabina Bulman, from Lake Country, together with staff at the Lake Country office, accessed a $5,000 community infrastructure grant from the Western Communities Foundation for the recreational corridor.

“I enjoy community fundraising, and look forward to the easy access that the rail trail will provide for walking and healthy lifestyle,” said Lowe, who lives at the northern trail head.

Bulman has been walking on the route for years.

“Visiting the Galloping Goose rail trail on Vancouver Island helped us to envision the improvements that rail trail development will bring,” she said.

Lowe and Bulman, both insurance advisors, participate in the Western Financial Group’s annual Support the Cause fundraising walk, and have promoted the rail trail as the community infrastructure project worthy of support.

Western Financial Group, through its non-profit Western Communities Foundation, seeks to have a positive impact on the infrastructure, services, people and pride of the communities where their employees live and work.
