Xtravaganza offers sports opportunities
Shannon Smart calls it a “Creative Chaos for sports.”
Smart, a Vernon-based recreation leader, is talking about SportZ Xtravaganza Friday from 4 to 8:30 p.m. at the Vernon Recreation Complex.
“Local sport organizations and businesses will have an exhibitors hall in the auditorium to showcase their program offerings,” said Smart. “In the gyms (Dogwood, Priest Valley) and Priest Valley Arena, we are going to have “try-a-sport” sessions so that people can sample new sports.”
B.C. Ringette will have its Jammers program going on at the Centennial outdoor rink in the rec centre complex.
At the end of the event, World and Paralympic champion Sonja Gaudet of Vernon will talk about the importance of staying active.
Her talk will be in the auditorium.
SportZ Xtravaganza is a free event for all ages and it is hosted by PacificSport Okanagan and Greater Vernon Recreation Services.
