A fundraiser is being held in Armstrong Saturday to support Chelaine McInroy.

Five Armstrong clubs are helping a young woman get an athletic prosthetic leg.

The Armstrong Lions Club, the Armstrong Ladies Club, the Armstrong Rotary Club, the Royal Canadian Legion and the Armstrong Kin Club are hosting a mystery dinner Saturday at St. Joseph’s Hall to raise money for Chelaine McInroy, 22.

McInroy, born with spina bifada, is a former member of Canada’s Para-alpine team who had to have a leg amputated after it became severely infected after she cut the leg while on vacation.

The Lions and ladies club are in charge of the dinner, while Rotary and legion are in charge of the silent and live auctions. The Kin Club will help out with various activities.

The event starts with cocktails at 6 p.m., while the dinner is at 7 p.m. and the live auction is at 8:30 p.m.

Tickets for the event are $20 and available in Armstrong at Chocoliro Finest Chocolate and Final Touch.
