College hosts summer camps

Okanagan College is offering summer camp opportunities for local youth.

New this year in Vernon, camps are offered for students from Grades 3 to 12 Grade 12. Parents can select from a range of offerings including Minecraft programming, wood and metal fabrication, fashion and cooking.

Students in Grades 9 to 12 can tap into a special two-week camp offering the fundamentals of coding.

“Coding education is already being integrated into school curriculums in BC and likely that trend will only continue to grow,” said Cindy Meissner, Camp OC co-ordinator.

“This camp offers a fun and informative way for students to understand what coding is all about and why it’s important.”
