A beautification project is getting a financial boost in Lumby.

Council has decided to take $500 from the community forest fund and direct it towards Grade 7 students at Charles Bloom Secondary School planting flower bulbs.

“They are looking for soil to plant in and they have spaces located at the school for flower beds,” said Mayor Kevin Acton.

The students recently received 600 bulbs from the Bulbs For Kids program and Swan Lake Nurseryland.

Members of council have also been invited to help the students plant the bulbs.
