A chance trip for area high school students to visit Europe over spring break has extended its first early bird registration deadline.

EF Tours has extended a deadline for any high school student in the Vernon or North Okanagan school districts to visit Switzerland, Italy, France and Spain to Wedneday, Nov. 1. Prices may go up by $50 after that.

“Global awareness is more essential than ever for our children, and the best way to become globally aware is by travelling abroad,” said Paul Britton, trip organizer, from Armstrong’s Pleasant Valley Secondary School.

“Experiencing new cultures opens students’ eyes to the world and provides valuable life skills to help them prepare for the future.”

Britton said more and more colleges and universities are looking for international experience on students’ applications to set them apart.

“Travel isn’t just educational; it’s an investment that gives your child an advantage in a competitive world,” he said.

There is room for students to still enroll and take advantage of this great opportunity.

This trip is rated as the Most Popular Trip that EF Tours offers. To enroll log onto www.eftours.ca and enter the Tour # 1937011PC.

EF Tours has included in the cost the excursions to Mount Pilatus, Swiss Folklore Evening, Barcelona By Bike, and the Barcelona Flamenco Evening. If you have any questions, contact Britton at 250-546-3114 (ext. 206), or e-mail pbritton@sd83.bc.ca.
