A decades old past-time is stretching beyond the days of old women in rocking chairs knitting by themselves.

Now knitting is rolling into a group activity, tied in with fun and friendships.

That’s the case for the South Vernon Knitters - a group of ladies who all love to click their needles, but also enjoy a good cup of coffee and the company of friends.

The group gets together Thursdays at 1 p.m. at the Tim Hortons on Okanagan Landing Road, where they swap patterns and stories.

Anyone interested in joining can do so by popping by on knitting days!
