Moon lights up stage

Celebrated singer/songwriter/guitarist Jacob Moon returns to Vernon Sunday and will bring his unique one-man-band approach to this evening of story and song.

Moon will perform songs from his catalogue of CDs, including his most recent release, Maybe Sunshine, inspired by his trip to El Salvador with Compassion, a Canadian relief organization.

Moon hit the stratosphere, so to speak, two years ago when he performed for rock legends Rush at the Songwriters Hall of Fame after his video cover of their hit Subdivisions went viral on YouTube with almost 300,000 views. Since then, his touring schedule has been full, covering dates across the country and into the U.S.

Living up to his reputation as one of the hardest-working indie artists in Canada, Moon has found the time to put together a three-DVD instructional series. Funded entirely by his fans, the video box set was a labour of love for the busy musician, who loves to teach what he has learned in his 15 years of full-time performing and recording.

Locals can see Moon perform live at Vernon Alliance Church, 2601 43 Ave., Sunday at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door, available at the church (250-545-7105) and at ticketwindow.ca.
