The Vernon Community Singers (VCS) are all tuned up for their spring concert celebrating unity.

We Are One is presented Friday, April 19 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, April 20 at 2 p.m. at Trinity United Church.

Each song for this celebration was specially chosen by conductor Terry Logan for its vision of hope, peace and diversity.

“This is the vital message I want to leave with the audience and each member of the choir since this is my final season as conductor of the VCS,” said Logan.

After 12 years as the conductor, Logan, with Toronto Conservatory degrees in both voice and piano, is looking forward to her new position as the choir’s accompanist.

Long time conductor Molly Boyd has commented that the choir has never sounded better and has enjoyed Logan’s excellent guidance. She knew that handing the choir over to Logan was the right decision when she retired in 2012.

Current president, Wendy Waters, says that Logan’s rehearsals, though professional, always have a place for lightheartedness and humor and comments that her dedication to her work is beyond remarkable.

An announcement about the new conductor will be made at the concert.

Tickets are available at the Schubert Center and from choir members for $20. Children 16 and under are free.
