AURA Chamber Choir invites audiences to join them on March 25 and 26 as they proudly present their 38th season spring concert entitled The Promise of Living.

The all 12th-century program, led by AURA founder and composer Imant Raminsh, is anchored by three works based on the Psalms: movements from Rachmaninoff’s monumental All Night Vigil (sung in Church Slavonic), Stravinsky’s Symphony of Psalms (sung in Latin) and Bernstein’s sparkling Chichester Psalms (sung in Hebrew), featuring young local soprano Amelia Hudson.

Joining AURA will be Salmon Arm soprano Andrea Roberts in Vaughan Williams’ Dona Nobis Pacem and four spirituals from Michael Tippett’s oratorio A Child of Our Time. Rounding out the program will be short works by Effinger and Orff and two choruses from Copland’s opera The Tender Land.

Performances take place Saturday, March 25 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, March 26 at 2 p.m. at All Saints Anglican Church in Vernon. Tickets are $18 for adults (students are free) at the Bean Scene in Vernon, from choir members, or at the door. For information, visit www.aurachamberchoir.com.
