The famous Atlantis Waterslides Family Night event is coming to Vernon July 30.

Family Night is an annual fundraising event hosted by Atlantis Waterslides and The Rice Box for the North Okanagan Neurological Association Child Development Centre (NONA), which provides invaluable resources to families and children in Vernon.

“NONA child development centre is thrilled to once again be part of this amazing event in support of the new clubhouse,” said Helen Armstrong, executive director at NONA. “NONA’s families had a blast at last year’s event and are looking forward to joining the fun again.”

The magical night includes hours of swimming and slides, dancing, a treasure hunt, a performing magician, and silent auction. Live music will be performed by The Noble Crew, and the Vernon volunteer firefighters have donated their time to man the barbecue, which will be serving burgers donated by A&W, fruits and veggies donated by Khun Khun Farm, ice-cream donated by Marble Slab Creamery and Asian dishes donated by The Rice Box.

“There are a lot of fundraisers that cater to adults. I want to have a fun night for families, because I have my own family. It’s a lot of fun for the kids,” said On Ouchs, Rice Box owner and event organizer. “The smiles on kids’ faces, and families having fun – it’s an awesome thing to see.”

Limited spots are available, so online registration for the event will be open Saturday, July 22 at 3 p.m. at TheRiceBox.com.

“Last year, spots filled in less than 24 hours, so be sure to register online to ensure a spot for you and your family,” said Ouchs. “This year, the theme is ‘Superheroes,’ so everyone attending can dress up as their favourite cinematic or comic book hero for the night!”

Family Night at Atlantis Waterslides takes place July 30 from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Entry is by optional donation, and 100 per cent of the proceeds go to the NONA Child Development Centre in support of their Build the Clubhouse Campaign.

Donations for the silent auction are still needed. Any businesses wishing to support this event can bring silent auction items to The Rice Box or 27th Street Florist by July 28.
