Vernon Winter Carnival brings Zumba fundraiser
M is an adoptable feline with the Okanagan Humane Society who will be benefiting from two Winter Carnival events at the Vernon Recreation Centre on Feb. 9 and sponsored by Excel Fitness.
Zumba Mini-Vibe for children ages three and up takes place from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Kids of all ages will love the booming beat of this expressive dance.
Each child will receive a free gift, and there will be door prizes and an opportunity to meet the new Queen and Princess Silver Star.
Tickets are $10, children under three and parents admitted free; tickets available at Excel, the Carnival office or at the door.
The second event, Zumba Vibe, is a fun activity done to music ranging from Latin to belly dance and everything in between. You don’t need the steps to be perfect — just come and have fun.
Runs 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and includes door prizes and draws. Tickets are $20, available at Breakaway, Excel, Fitness West, Goodlife and Kal Fitness. Tickets are also available at the door for $25.
