A young bear has been finding food rewards at the Silver Star Depot.

Silver Star Bear Stewardship spotted the bear Thursday, April 18 and is reminding residents to take down bird feeders and manage garbage at home.

“She will be around your homes soon looking for more easily accessible food rewards,” the Stewarship said.

“Also, cars with food in them are an easy target as bears are amazing at opening your doors. Believe it or not!”

The depot is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday if residents need to move out some garbage.

“It takes a whole community to keep bears safe.”
