Mushrooms, ecstasy and cocaine confiscated

Police found an assortment of drugs in a Vernon house Wednesday.

Just before 11 p.m., officers, searched an apartment in the 3800 block of 28A Street.

“Police seized quantities of psilocybin mushrooms and cocaine as well as what is believed to be amounts of methylenedioxymethamphetamine (ecstasy) and marijuana,” said Gord Molendyk, RCMP spokesperson.

“Items associated with trafficking in the drug trade were also located in a bedroom along with the drugs.”

A 31-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman are expected to appear in court at a later date to face drug-related charges.

“A point of concern to our investigators is the fact a youth lives at the residence as well,” said Molendyk.

“The youth was not home at the time and is currently with other family members.”
