Suspect arrested following robbery
Vernon RCMP officers made an arrest in connection with an attempted robbery in East Hill Monday night.
Shortly after 7 p.m., police were called to the 3900 block of Pleasant Valley Road for a report of a robbery.
“Police located an 18-year-old victim who said he had just been attacked and assaulted by a man in his 20s,” said Vernon RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk. “During the attack, the suspect had attempted to rob him as well.”
Officers made patrols of the area and found a suspect that matched the description provided by the victim.
He was arrested and returned to the detachment while other officers continued the investigation of robbery.
A 25-year-old Vernon man was slated to appear in Vernon Provincial Court Tuesday to face a charge of attempted robbery.
