Lumby celebrates housing project

A ribbon cutting, cake and music will complement the grand opening of Monashee Place and the newly renovated lounge and kitchen in Lumby Sunday.

Representatives attending the 1 p.m. celebration will include the federal and provincial government, B.C. Housing, the Village of Lumby,  Scuka Enterprises and the Lumby Senior Citizens housing Society.

“The society would like to extend an invitation to the residents of Lumby and areas D and E to join in the celebration, the refreshments and visit the newly renovated lounge and kitchen,” said Judy Gibbs, with the society. “The new housing project is a testament to the commitment of the citizens of Lumby and areas D and E to provide housing for seniors allowing them to remain closer to home and to fulfill the vision of a vibrant future for their communities.”
