Vernon attempted robbery suspect arrested
Vernon RCMP announced Wednesday they had made an arrest in connection with an attempted robbery in the parking lot of Lincoln Lanes Friday.
A 54-year-old woman scared off the would-be robber by honking her car horn.
Police had issued a photo of the suspect as he was caught on video surveillance, having been inside the facility before the attempted theft.
"With the help of the local media outlets, and members of the public, the Vernon RCMP were able to take a suspect into custody in the robbery attempt at Lincoln Lanes on 25th Avenue," stated Vernon RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk.
The 41-year-old Vernon man was arrested without incident Wednesday. He is expected to appear in court Thursday to answer to charges of robbery.
