Second incident claims life of Vernon pedestrian
For the second time in two days the Vernon RCMP are investigating a fatal pedestrian motor vehicle accident.
On Wednesday at about 4:20 p.m., an elderly man was crossing Silver Star Road in a marked crosswalk near the BX fire hall when he was struck by a northbound vehicle.
"The victim was conscious at the scene and was transported to hospital where he later died of his injuries," said Gord Molendyk, RCMP spokesperson.
"Police do not feel speed and alcohol, are factors in the investigation."
Police are still investigating the incident, with the crash analyst on the scene.
Both the driver and the victim were from the Vernon area.
A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle on Okanagan Landing Road Tuesday.
