Local RCMP officers ready for New Year’s Eve duties

If you’re going out for New Year’s Eve celebrations Saturday, expect to see the RCMP.

The Vernon-North Okanagan detachment plans to have a full complement of officers and resources working to make sure partiers have a safe and happy end to 2011.

“Our crews will be conducting road checks, and we will have auxiliary officers joining our members working the city and at Silver Star,” said RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk.
