Stolen snowmobiles located by officers
A routine traffic stop led to RCMP officers recovering stolen snowmobiles.
Members of the North Okanagan Traffic Services were conducting patrols on Highway 97A near Canyon Road in Enderby Saturday at 6:30 p.m. when they stopped a blue Dodge pickup towing a trailer that had no working tail lights.
“There were two sleds on the trailer, and one on the truck, and one sled was confirmed stolen out of Lethbridge in 2010, and one was confirmed stolen out of Vernon in 2009,” said RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk.
“We are checking into the possibility of the third one being stolen, as its vehicle identification number appeared to be damaged.”
Police seized all three snowmobiles.
The driver, a North Okanagan man, told police he bought all of the sleds as used equipment.
The file remains under investigation and no charges have been laid.
