Train derailed in Lavington
A train got off track in Lavington Wednesday morning.
Approximately five cars were derailed next to Tolko in Lavington, with two completely spilling their loads of cedar poles next to the tracks.
"It happened while they were switching the cars out," said Pat Donnelly, plant manager at Tolko's Lavington division.
Investigations are ongoing to determine what caused the derailment. There were no injuries from the incident.
It's anticipated to take one week to 10 days to clean up the mess and damage to the railway tracks, operated by Kelowna Pacific Rail.
