Home building on par
Housing construction remains steady in Vernon.
The Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation reports there were 12 housing starts in April, a nine per cent increase from 11 starts during the same month in 2011.
Of the 12 starts, there were six single units (down 45 per cent) and six multiple units (on par with last year).
Year-to-date, there have been 51 housing starts in Vernon, a 65 per cent increase from 31 units during the first four months of 2011.
