It will never be known how a fire that destroyed a Coldstream home started.

The investigation has wrapped up into a blaze in the 8100 block of Stoneridge Drive Monday night.

“It will go down as undetermined,” said Lawrie Skolrood, investigator.

It has been determined that the resident was working with open flame in his garage prior to the fire erupting.

“The fire destroyed everything at the work bench so it’s not known exactly what happened,” said Skolrood.

The value of the damage has not been determined.

The occupants of the home — an older couple — were able to get out of the home with their two dogs.

Volunteers from both the Coldstream and Lavington fire halls responded to the scene Monday.
