Accident shuts down highway in downtown Vernon

UPDATE 6:52 A.M.

According to Drive B.C., Highway 97 (32nd Street) through downtown Vernon has reopened to traffic after an accident early Wednesday morning.

Motorists are being forced to find detours after a motor vehicle accident closed Highway 97 in downtown Vernon.

The accident occurred early Wednesday morning at 30th Avenue and 32nd Street (Highway 97).

The highway is closed in both directions from Highway 6 to 1.5 kilometres north of Vernon.

The estimated time of the highway reopening is 6:45 a.m., according to Drive B.C.'s website.
