RCMP shut down marijuana-grow operation in Cherryville

A major marijuana-grow operation has been shut down in the North Okanagan.

RCMP officers converged on a residence in the 1800 block of Highway 6 in Cherryville Wednesday morning.

Officers located a concrete bunker and 4,608 marijuana plants.

A generator was being used to power part of the operation while a Hydro connection was also being used.

A 33-year-old Kelowna man was taken into custody and he is expected to face charges of production and possession for the purpose of trafficking.
