Support for health care continues to grow.

The Light A Bulb campaign at Vernon Jubilee Hospital is currently at $92,000, or 46 per cent of its $200,000 goal.

“Nearly half of the bulbs on the tree on top of the hospital are lit,” said Dr. Michael Concannon, campaign chairperson.

“But we are not done, we still need community support to complete the campaign to purchase much-needed equipment for Vernon Jubilee.”

Donations are coming from a variety of sources, including $84 from Kristen and Declan Hardy, who held a lemonade stand during the summer.

The Armstrong-Spallumcheen Healthcare Auxiliary donated $15,000. These funds came from sales at the Bargain Bin.

“Thanks to the generosity of the Armstrong Spalluncheen Healthcare Auxiliary and other Services Clubs like Royal Purple, the Coldstream Women’s Institute and local businesses like Eljay Irrigation Systems and Sunset West Mechanical who continue to support Light A Bulb, we are well on track to meeting our goal” said Concannon.

For more information or to donate, visit the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation office in the hospital or call 250-558-1362.
