Light A Bulb nears goal
A Christmas tradition is closing in on its goal.
The Light A Bulb campaign has raised $160,859 or 80 per cent of the $200,000 needed to purchase equipment for Vernon Jubilee Hospital.
“It is not too late to make a donation for the 2012 tax year,” said Michael Concannon, campaign chairperson.
“Donations must be dated and postmarked by Dec. 31.”
The funds will go towards endoscopes for the operating rooms and a colposcopy system used for cervical screening in the ambulatory care clinic.
A boost has come from Carmen Perreault, a VJH employee.
While operating a floor-cleaning machine, she has been asking for loonies and toonies for Light A Bulb.
“She, like so many Interior Health employees, recognize the importance of this annual campaign for the hospital,” said Concannon.
