Cougar sighting reported in Lumby
Lumby RCMP have issued a caution to village residents after reports of a cougar sighting Wednesday.
The animal was spotted at the east end of the Salmon River Trail by the creek.
“The village will post the trail and local schools were advised,” said Lumby RCMP Cpl. Henry Proce. “Use caution when walking the local trails as wildlife may be encroaching on populated areas due to the recent heavy snowfalls.”
