Critic makes local stop

NDP environment critic Rob Fleming will be in Vernon Sunday.

Fleming and Vernon-Monashee candidate Mark Olsen will meet with local environmental groups and residents at the Halina Centre at 12:30 p.m.

“I’m looking forward to hearing from people in Vernon about local environmental concerns,” said Fleming.

“Everywhere I go in the province, people are concerned that the Liberals have dropped the ball when it comes to protecting our environment. The NDP is putting forward some practical ideas to improve environmental protections in B.C., and I look forward to talking about those on Sunday.”

Olsen says the provincial government must make the environment a priority.

“Environmental organizations in our area are doing great work, but they can’t do it alone,” said Olsen.
