Starts up as year begins
Vernon housing construction has got off to a strong start in 2013.
According to the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, there were 24 housing starts in January, compared to 16 during the same month in 2012.
Of the 24 starts, seven were single-detached units (six in 2012) and 17 were multiple units (10 last year).
Housing starts were down in Kelowna and Kamloops in January.
