Accident injures police officer in Spallumcheen
UPDATED 9:40 A.M. WEDNESDAY, FEB. 20: The officer has since been released from hospital. The four-year member was one of two officers heading in separate vehicles to an Enderby complaint of a suspicious person/prowler.
He was in the lead vehicle heading northbound on Highway 97A into a right hand curve approximately a half-kilometre north of Pleasant Valley Road when its believed his police cruiser hit black ice. The vehicle left the road on the right-hand side and rolled.
The Jaws of Life was used to extract the officer from the vehicle.

An RCMP officer is in hospital after a single-vehicle accident on Highway 97A at about 4 a.m. Wednesday.
RCMP report that the incident occurred when the officer's vehicle hit some black ice near the Spallumcheen industrial park and rolled.
The officer was taken to Vernon Jubilee Hospital with what are described as non-life threatening injuries.
DriveBC reports that there is a lane closure in effect. Northbound traffic is being rerouted to a southbound lane.
