NDP leader Adrian Dix insists Okanagan residents are looking for a change.

Dix, who was in Vernon Wednesday, says his party will top the polls in the region during the provincial election May 14.

"I believe we can do well here. It's exciting," he said.

"I believe there will be NDP MLAs elected from Salmn Arm to the border and this riding (Vernon-Monashee) is a key one."

Dix says the NDP has made the interests of Vernon-Monashee a priority and that will translate into votes.

"I've held meetings here every year for seven years. It gives people confidence that I didn't just show up before the election. They know we are committed to the Okanagan having representation," he said.
