Vernon tennis star lands endorsement with national company
A rising tennis star from Vernon is being recognized by a large Canadian corporation.
Vasek Pospisil has been named an ambassador by Iris, which operates eye care outlets across the country.
“I am excited to announce my partnership with Iris. It feels really great to know I have the support of such a great company that shares my vision,” he said.
Pospisil, 23, rose to 40th in the ATP Tour rankings after recently reaching the Rogers Cup semifinals against Milos Raonic in Montreal.
He also competed in the U.S. Open in Flushing, N.Y. and he is set to play in the Davis Cup in Serbia from Sept. 13 to 15.
Pospisil was chosen by Iris for his sportsmanship and overall love of the game.
“Vasek shares our values of passion, honesty and respect on the court as well as in his day-to-day life,” said Francis Jean, company president.
“We are looking forward to a long-term partnership with Vasek and wish him all of the best in his career.”
Pospisil won his third ATP Challenger singles title in South Africa, as well as his second ATP Challenger of the year in Vancouver.
