Premier praises global span of Vernon company
A Vernon-based company is receiving significant praise from B.C.'s premier.
Christy Clark stopped by Kal Tire's headquarters as the company unveils wireless tire pressure monitoring for mine operations around the world.
"It's amazing how the technology allows us in Vernon to monitor what is going on in Mozambique," she said.
Kal Tire has developed the technology with Delta-based SST Wireless.
"There are no mines in Vernon or Delta, but there are mines all over the world and it shows how we are connected economically," said Clark of the importance of B.C. companies competing internationally.
The new system is already being used at mines in Canada, Mexico, China and Mozambique.
"We have created a product that can have an impact worldwide," said Robert Foord, Kal Tire president.
