Shykora takes on new role

There are new duties for a North Okanagan administrator.

Lynda Shykora has been named as the new deputy corporate officer of the Columbia-Shuswap Regional District.

Shykora was Spallumcheen’s chief executive officer for eight years but the relationship with the township ended in October 2012.

She has previously worked for Lumby, Lake Country and the Regional District of North Okanagan.

At CSRD, Shykora will replace Carolyn Black, who is moving to the Thompson-Nicola Regional District.

Falkland water gets upgrade

The first state in improving Falkland’s water is moving ahead.

The Columbia-Shuswap Regional District board has issued a contract to Golder Associates to design, oversee construction and commission a manganese treatment plant.

The $35,926 consulting fee will be funded through Falkland’s community works fund.
