Silver Star resort honours Dueck

A North Okanagan athlete is being recognized for his international excellence.

Vernon’s Josh Dueck will be the focus of a celebration at Silver Star Mountain Resort Saturday in the village at 4 p.m.

A sit-skier, Dueck won gold and silver medals during the recent Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia.

Dueck also carried the Canadian flag at the closing ceremony wrapping up the Winter Games.

It’s hoped the public will come out Saturday to celebrate Dueck’s victories.

“We will have cake and there will be an opportunity for autographs and photos,” said Anne Haight, Silver Star’s sales and marketing director.
