Charges laid in fatal accident

Charges have now been laid in a fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred a year ago.

On March 31, 2013, a northbound Chevrolet pickup truck allegedly crossed the centre line on Highway 97, south of Vernon, and collided head-on with a southbound Volvo station wagon.

Those who died as a result of injuries in the accident were Eric David Robertson, 19, of Armstrong, a passenger in the pickup, and the occupants of the station wagon, Allan Arthur Allport, 70, and his wife, Fay Dorothy Allport, 67, of Salmon Arm.

Brandon McGregor, 22, of Spallumcheen, has been charged with dangerous driving causing death.

He is scheduled to appear in Vernon court May 1.
