RCMP are now investigating a suspected arson in Lake Country.

On April 4 at about 12:42 a.m., the RCMP and the Lake Country Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire in the 11000 block of Lang Court.

“A single-family house and a recreational vehicle  sustained significant damage as a result of the blaze,” said Cst. Jesse O’Donaghey, with the RCMP.

“The occupants of the residence were home at the time of the fire and exited their home safely.”

Police are treating the fire as suspicious in nature and continue to investigate with the fire department.

“Anyone who may have witnessed any persons or vehicles in the area at the time of the fire is asked to call the Lake Country RCMP at 250-766-2288,” said O’Donaghey.
