Nitros blast Gators

The Dynamite brushed back the Whitehouse Mortgage Gators 13-1 as the Vernon Women’s Slo-Pitch League season opened Wednesday night at Kin Park.

Shortstop Pam Betton and Linda Castonguay each went 4-for-5 to spark the Nitros, while Jen Ternier, Debra Holbrook, Pam Zalcik and Sandy Demers all went 3-for-4.

The defending champ Ice Cold Pitches mercied Dave’s Mobile Mechanic Devils 20-1 with Courtney Bissell going 3-for-3 with a grand slam home run and a triple.

Brittany Housego  supplied four hits in four trips to the plate, while Tracy Solmes also went yard and joined Tracy Bell, Jackie Rivard and Sheila Martin in going 3-for-4. Martin added a triple. The Ted Luszcz Dozers of Lumby had the bye.
