RDNO shut out

The Regional District of North Okanagan wants a voice.

During recent elections, RDNO was shut out of an executive seat at the Southern Interior Local Government Association, which represents municipalities and regional districts.

“We have no way of accessing what is happening at SILGA,” said Rick Fairbairn, RDNO vice-chairperson.

The Thompson-Nicola Regional District holds five of the seats while the Regional District of Central Okanagan has two and three other districts have one each.

RDNO wants SILGA to ensure each regional district has at least one representative on the executive.
