Vernon starts ready

Housing construction remains steady.

There were 12 housing starts in Vernon during June, down from 13 units during the same month in 2013.

All of the 12 starts were single-detached units.

“The housing starts trend levelled out, edging slightly lower in June as expected,” said Sarena Teakles, a Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation senior market analyst.

Year-to-date, there have been 95 housing starts in Vernon, up from 81 units during the same six-month period in 2013.

The 95 starts consist of 71 single-detached units and 24 multiple units.
