There was little that could be done to save a burning vehicle Sunday afternoon.

A vehicle is destroyed by fire at the Swan Lake boat launch off Highway 97  at about 2:15 p.m.

Officials with the BX-Swan Lake Fire Department, believed the fire began after a cigarette butt was not discarded properly and ignited items in the backseat of the vehicle.
