Environment ministry lifts smoky skies advisory

The ministry of environment has ended the smoky skies Advisory that was issued last week for the entire Okanagan, Shuswap, Thompson, Fraser Canyon, Similkameen, Nicola and Boundary regions.

The weather system that is moving through the southern Interior has resulted in an improvement in air quality and a decrease in the amount of smoke carried into the region.

These conditions are expected to continue through the weekend.
