Vehicle fires created some challenges for motorists and firefighters in Lake Country Monday.

A portion of Highway 97 between Oyama and Winfield was closed during the morning after a logging truck caught fire.

Late in the afternoon, firefighters were in the northbound lanes extinguishing flames that consumed a tow truck.

The second incident led to the northbound lanes being closed for a short period of time.
