A spectacular accident shut down a major route in Coldstream Thursday night.
Highway 6 was shut down to traffic at about 6 p.m. after a truck left the S-turns near Aberdeen Road and went into an adjacent field.
“The vehicle sheared in two as it hit a hydro pole,” said Dave Sturgeon, Coldstream fire chief.
Apparently the accident resulted in minor injuries.
At 9:15 p.m., it was believed the highway could be closed for about another hour.
The accident is under investigation by the RCMP.
