It’s that time of year again—time to fall back.

Set your clocks back one hour before you go to bed Sat.night. Daylight Saving Time ends at 2 a.m. Sun., Nov. 5.

Starting this weekend there will be more light in the morning, which means the afternoons get shorter and darker.Sunset on Sunday is anticipated to happen around 4:44 p.m. PST.

Most computers and cell phones now change their clocks automatically, but you will still need to fix your watch, microwave and car. The twice-a-year change is also a good time to check the batteries in your smoke detector.

Most of British Columbia is on Pacific Time and observes DST. However, there are two main exceptions:

Part of the Peace River Regional District of BC (including the communities of Chetwynd, Dawson Creek, Hudson’s Hope, Fort St. John, Taylor and Tumbler Ridge) is on Mountain Time and does not observe DST.

The East Kootenay region of south-eastern BC is on Mountain Time and observes DST,with the exception of Creston, which observes MST year round.
