An expansion at Kal Tire Place is moving ahead.

The first step towards a new ice sheet is development of 29 regular parking stalls and 13 handicapped stalls along 43rd Avenue.

“The work is expected to be completed by the end of April, weather depending, prior to excavation work beginning in the north parking lot,” said Tanya Laing Gahr, the City of Vernon’s communications officer.

The existing 13 handicapped parking stalls on the east side of the access road will be relocated closer to the building to improve accessibility to the front entrance.

The location where the 13 handicapped stalls are presently marked will be repainted as 19 regular parking stalls, leading to a total of 48 new stalls.
